Privacy policy

This privacy policy describes how Gomez Innovations LLC ("ChannelCast", "we", "us") collects, uses, and protects the personal information of customers and end viewers when they use the ChannelCast platform at channelcast.tv and any tenant-branded deployments running on our infrastructure.

1. Information we collect

We collect three categories of data:

• Operator account data. Email, display name, hashed password, and two-factor secret material for users who sign in to the admin console.
• Tenant configuration. Channel names, brand assets (logo, colors, artwork), schedules, playlists, simulcast destinations, and custom domains you register.
• Viewer telemetry. Aggregate play counts, concurrent-viewer counts, and per-episode VOD analytics. We do not collect viewer names or email addresses unless your tenant enables device-pairing via activation codes.

2. How we use it

Your operator account data is used to authenticate you and gate access to your tenant. Tenant configuration is used to operate the service you configured. Viewer telemetry is used to render the analytics dashboards in your console. We do not sell any data to third parties and we do not run advertising trackers on the platform.

3. Third-party processors

We use a small number of named subprocessors to operate the service:

• Mux Inc. — live ingest, transcoding, recording, and CDN delivery for your video assets. Mux handles all video bytes.
• Microsoft Azure — application hosting, SQL database, and image storage.
• Email delivery — transactional emails (password reset, welcome, invite) are sent through a single SMTP provider configured per-tenant.

4. Data retention

Operator accounts and tenant configuration are retained for the lifetime of your subscription plus 30 days after cancellation, after which they are permanently deleted from primary storage. VOD assets retained on the Mux side follow the storage retention window of your plan (60/90/120 days for Starter/Pro/Complete); contact us for extended-retention add-ons.

5. Your rights

Operators have the right to access, export, and delete their tenant data at any time through the admin console or by request to privacy@channelcast.tv. We respond to GDPR and CCPA requests within 30 days.

6. Security

Passwords are stored using PBKDF2 with per-user salts. Sessions are gated behind HttpOnly cookies on the browser surface and JWT bearer tokens on the API surface. Two-factor authentication is available for every account. Custom-domain TLS is handled by our hosting provider.

7. Changes to this policy

Material changes will be announced in the operator console at least 30 days before they take effect. The "Effective" date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
