Billing policy

This policy explains how ChannelCast plans are billed, how overages work, and how refunds, upgrades, and cancellations are handled. It supplements the terms of use and is governed by the same law.

1. Plans and prices

Current plans and prices are listed at channelcast.tv/pricing. Plans are billed monthly in U.S. dollars unless you have a separate written agreement. Annual billing is available on request with a 10% discount.

2. Trials

New tenants receive a 14-day free trial on the Pro tier. No credit card is required to start the trial. At the end of the trial, your tenant downgrades to the free state (read-only access to your data) unless you select a paid plan from the admin billing page.

3. Renewals

Paid plans renew automatically at the end of each billing period using the payment method on file. We will email you 7 days before each annual renewal and 3 days before each monthly renewal. You may cancel at any time before the renewal date from the admin billing page.

4. Overages

Each plan includes a monthly live-streaming hour allotment (Starter 10h, Pro 15h, Complete 20h). If you exceed your allotment in a billing period, additional hours are billed at $15 per live streaming hour on your next invoice. There are no throttling cutoffs mid-stream — if you go over, we keep delivering and bill you the next cycle.

Storage retention beyond your plan's free window (60/90/120 days) is billed at $0.05 per GB per month, calculated from the duration × bitrate of the assets that remain past the free window.

5. Upgrades and downgrades

Upgrades take effect immediately and are prorated against your current billing period — you are charged the difference between the new and old plan for the remaining days. Downgrades take effect at the start of the next billing period; you retain the higher plan's features through the end of the current period.

6. Refunds

Monthly plans are non-refundable. Annual plans cancelled within 30 days of the initial purchase receive a full refund. Outside of those windows, refunds are granted at our discretion only when the service experienced a documented outage that materially affected your tenant.

7. Failed payments

If a renewal payment fails, we retry over the following 7 days. We will email you on each attempt. If all attempts fail, the tenant moves to read-only on the 8th day — your data is preserved, but new live streams and uploads are blocked until billing is restored.

8. Taxes

Listed prices do not include sales tax, VAT, or GST. Where applicable, taxes are added to your invoice based on your billing address.

9. Custom contracts

Larger deployments, multi-tenant resellers, and organizations with specific procurement requirements can request a custom contract with negotiated terms, SLA, and invoicing. Contact sales@channelcast.tv.
